The Ackermans are called by God, ordained and sponsored by the local church and ready to serve the Lord as Independent Baptist missionaries. We desire greatly to reach the Bolivian people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Church and Pastor
Our sending church, Mt. View Baptist Church in Kenny Lake, Alaska, is an Independent fundamental Baptist Church in Kenny Lake, Alaska. Though small, it stands like a beacon on top of the hill, uncompromising God's word as translated in to the KJV. Russell Posey, our pastor, has missionary experience himself having served full time in Siberia, Russia with his wife and nine children.

Our Mission
Through conviction of the Holy Spirit we are called to plant indigenous Independent Baptist Churches in Bolivia. While we were here on our survey trip in 2004 we visited a Catholic Church once with our children in the city of Vallegrande. Because they were always asking, "What is it like in there and what do they do, Dad?" So for some cultural learning we observed for 15 minutes. Their question to us upon leaving was, "Don't they know that Jesus is alive?" The sadness and despair of people exiting the mass was evident to them. We want to take the "lively hope" of our Lord Jesus Christ's resurrection from the dead to these lost souls. Of the 8.5 million Bolivian people, 95% are Roman Catholic. In addition to being Catholic, they hold onto pagan beliefs left over from the Inca Empire. Besides being spiritually poor, 70% of the people are below the poverty line.

Our Team
The Lord has opened the opportunity for us to work with an established Mission Agency here in Bolivia, Baptist Pioneer Mission, Inc. They have established missionaries here who have proven that indigenous, Independent Baptist churches can be planted successfully. We have been in the field since 5/2006. We are learning the language and culture while at the same time working alongside a national pastor, Pastor Alberto Pantoja. Rick at this time is preaching at times in a Fundamnetal Baptist Church in Tarija under Pastor Pantoja and the Ackerman family is also starting a work in San Lorenzo 10 miles to the North. We are confident through prayer that God is preparing and working in the hearts of the people even now for His servants to bring the Good News to. Won't you please pray for these people too?
